Coffee cup used in U.S. military hospitals and other medical facilities.

Buffalo China, founded in 1901, manufactured and sold tableware for hotels, restaurants, diners, and other general use, but was also known as a supplier of military tableware.
Acquired in 1983 and the factory closed in 2004.
The brand name only exists now.

The Caduceus mark, the symbol of medics, is the same type as the current one.
The back mark is a relief type with only the Buffalo logo.
This back stamp was used from the 1980s to the early 1990s.
It is a rare back mark, as stamp types are more common.
It is difficult to collect multiple pieces from the same manufacturer, same era, and with the same stamp.
I think it is rare to find medical tableware surplus as dead stock.

The bottom is also clean, and there are no stains, scratches, or chips from use, so it appears to be unused, but aging cannot be avoided.
