February 2, 1959, was the last concert for Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens and the Big Bopper. It occurred at the Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, Ohio. The tragic plane crash that killed the three musicians occurred the following day, February 3, 1959, and has since been known as "The Day the Music Died". Waylon Jennings gave up his seat to the Big Bopper.
