The shovel folds - has engraved US Wood 1944 on it (hard to see in pics).
The mechanism turns like it should and isn’t stiff nor too loose and it locks tight.
The wood handle has some minor cracks from age/use but they don’t go thru.
Where the wood inserts into the metal is a little loose. Does not twist more than approx 1/16th of an inch.
