Measuring 1-5/8 inches in diameter and 3-3/4 inches in overall height, this medal features a pinback design for secure attachment. The obverse side displays a bronze compass rose, symbolizing navigation and aviation, with an eagle holding lightning bolts in flight. The reverse side is often blank, allowing space for engraving the recipient's name or details.
The ribbon is blue with golden orange stripes, representing the skies and excellence in aviation.
