80s Levi's 501 Red Ear Vintage Black Can American Casual Street

This is a pair of Levi's 501 from the 1980s, commonly referred to as the "Red Line." Nowadays, even USA-made versions are rare, but this model is even older with the red selvage. From the inner tag, it can be identified as being made in 1982. The button back shows 558.

It is rare for this age to have such clean whiskering. While it has faded, this type of ice blue denim pairs exceptionally well with black T-shirts and the like. There is one area that has been repaired, but there are no damages that would affect wear. There is a slight fraying on the second button fly, so I think that could be repaired, but it is not a problem for wearing it as is.

Additionally, the length is the original length, and it features chain stitching. The selvage has also shown very nicely. Vintage Levi's like the XX, Big E, and 66 models have seen tremendous price increases over the years. The red selvage, being one of the last models to feature it, is considered the last of the vintage denim.

With even USA-made versions becoming hard to find in the United States, the red selvage is very valuable.
