This gently used hardback facsimile edition of an important eyewitness account of the American Revolution is long out of print and very hard to find! Major General Riedesel was a Hessian officer who commanded troops under Burgoyne. His memoirs and letters were published in the early 19th century in 2 volumes. This is Volume 2, which commences in 1778 after the disastrous Saratoga Campaign, with Riedesel endeavoring to secure a prisoner exchange for captured German prisoners. A fascinating glimpse into the war from a German perspective. Online vendors offer lower quality versions on a print on demand basis, but it is hard to find a copy that matches this beautiful production! This Ex-Library book appears unused; the binding is tight and pages clean and unmarked. Smoke free home. Ships media mail.
