This may have been created as a cigarette trinket box with the matching 4 ashtrays. Vintage EMPIRE porcelain sets were created in ENGLAND for hosting parties. Today great trinket dresser pieces.
The set is in very good condition. The box has no iIssues. Some of the squares have little gold wear and nicks on the sides. But none have any cracks or crazing. The center cameos are still colorful and clear.
