“Tangerine” is a fitting name for these plates. The earthy orange, yellow/gold and brown colors are bright and cheerful. Made in Japan in the early 1970s, these plates are pieces P9261 of the set. Considered “chop plates” they were traditionally used for serving roasted meats. They each measure 10 3/4” in diameter.
The plates are made of high-quality stoneware and are durable enough for everyday use. They are dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.
They are in excellent condition. There are a few VERY MINOR scuffs here and there consistent with age - but nothing egregious. You have to really look for them in the sunlight, to detect them. There are no chips.
These plates would go with any earthtone decor, whether using them on your table or just for display. They are beautiful!
