Friendship makes the rough road smooth"
Here is a Vintage Holly Hobbie decorative plate made by American Greetings in the 1970's.
On the back of the plate it says for decoration only. This plate is not suitable for food. This vintage plate is is adorable. No chips, cracks, or crazing. IMMACULATE CONDITION for its age. The mint green edge border looks fantastic. Illustration shows two girls riding a high wheel bicycle. Holly Hobbie (born Denise Holly Ulinskas, in 1944) is an American writer, watercolorist and illustrator. It is also the name of a fictional character that she created.
In the late 1960s, at the encouragement of her brother-in-law, Hobbie sold distinctive artwork of a cat-loving, rag dress-wearing little girl in a giant bonnet to American Greetings in Cleveland, Ohio. The artwork, based on Hobbie's own children and with rustic New England style of a bygone era, became popular, and her originally nameless character (identified earlier as "blue girl") became known as Holly
