This gently used hardback facsimile edition of an important eyewitness account of the American Revolution is long out of print and very hard to find! Lieutenant von Krafft was a young aristocratic Prussian who at the start of the Revolution volunteered to join a Hessian unit, intending to fight against American rebels. His journey to America, his service on both an American privateer and for the British Army, his secret marriage to an American German lady, and his decision to remain in America after the War are chronicled in these fascinating pages. Lower quality copies of this text are sold on a print on demand basis by online vendors, but it is difficult to obtain this beautifully produced edition published in 1968 by the New York Times and Arno Press. This copy is Ex-Library but appears unused; the binding is tight and pages clean and unmarked. Smoke free home.
