Pair of Vintage Floral Collector Plates

Pair of vintage floral collector's plates with artwork by Vieonne Morley. Titled TULIPS and IRISES the plates are the seventh and eighth issues in the "Flowers of Your Garden" series created by Morley for the Pastel Society of America. Produced by W. L. George, the 1989 plates measuring 8 1/2" were to immortalize the beauty of America's best-loved flowers. The TULIPS plate #268A shows Morley's subtle peach and beige colors set against a soft pastel background. The IRISES plate #524A showcases Morley's art in vibrant colors of yellow, purple, and shades of white. Each plate is signed MORLEY. Each plate is strictly limited to 150 firing days maximum. A quote by Morley on the Tulips plate reads, "At the first sight of the green shoots, my heart warms in anticipation of the tulip's colors." Her quote on the Irises reads, " Weather in a garden or in a freshly cut display, the iris, with its unique and graceful form, is unmistakable."
