Antique Early 1900s PROVIDENCE TOOL CO. Wood Plane Planer Hand Tool 16” - RARE!!

Antique PROVIDENCE TOOL COMPANY wood plane/planer hand tool made in Providence, Rhode Island. Dates to the early 1900s or 1800s. Providence Tool Company began in 1847 and, while they are known today for arms and ammunition production, back then they primarily made hammers, pick axes and other hand tools. Good overall condition with some wear from age and use. Wood is solid throughout. Blade and plate remove as normal. Plate screw for adjusting blade depth works as normal. Blade, plate and screw all with surface rust as shown. Blade reads… “WARRANTED EXTRA CAST STEEL”. Manufacturer name above is faint and hard to read at this point. Blade cutting edge with a few tiny chips from use. Handle is solid, but not original… replaced long ago. Nice item for display or restoration. Measures about 15 7/8” long.
