Donkey Kong Classics for Nintendo NES Collectors

Collecting the arcade hits Donkey Kong (1981) and Donkey Kong Jr. (1982), Donkey Kong Classics gives you two retro games for the price of one. In Donkey Kong you play Mario. Your sole purpose in life is to rescue girlfriend Pauline from the clutches of Donkey Kong, a big hairy ape who has taken refuge at the top of an unfinished building(s). In the first two rounds of play, you run and climb up steel girders and ladders while jumping over or dodging fireballs, barrels and other obstacles. Hammers are located at various points and you can grab them to smash the barrels. When you reach the top of the screen, the level is complete. The third round of play once again has you running and climbing on steel girders and ladders, but here you must pull all of the bolts out of the girders in order to complete the level. Fireballs, which you can pound with hammers, chase after you during your mission. The game continues after all three levels have been completed, but this time with faster enemies
