Champagne Knit Winter Dress Nougat London Size 1

Paid £215. The original Nougat of London brand was established in 1990. It was known for its sophisticated and distinctly feminine aesthetic, thoughtful and exquisite detailing, delicate fabrics & soft colours. It initially drew inspiration from the glamour of film noir and the elegant screen sirens of the past. This dress perfectly encapsulates this ethos. Rather than chasing fleeting trends, Nougat focused on creating classic, lasting garments in small quantities and also believed in the strength of selling to smaller, independent stockists, which gave it a more exclusive and controlled market presence. I bought this dress from an independent boutique in Whitby North Yorkshire and on both occasions I wore this dress, I was asked where I got it! Sadly, Nougat London ceased trading in 2014. The Shepherds Purse in Whitby has also long since closed its doors. But the dress endures. This light-weight knit dress with stunning embroidery detail and individually stitched petal design to one side and 7 buttons, covered with two subtly different yet perfectly colour-matched fabric to the other (check out the photos) is a rare find.
