Very cool rare antique 9 3/4” restaurantware plate marked Cafe Baum with a depiction of the Francis Scott Key monument. Restaurant was located in Baltimore, MD. Owner was Fritz W. Baum, who arrived in the US in 1903 from Germany. In about 1910 he purchased the property in Baltimore and renamed the restaurant Cafe Baum. Fritz operated the cafe until 1937 when he became ill. His wife Elsie and son Fritz Jr. took over the Cafe. Fritz died May 9, 1939.

Excellent condition with no chips or cracks. Coloring is still surprisingly vibrant as well.
