19" Franklin Heirloom, 'A Mother's Love' Doll and Baby w/Stand 1986

Franklin Heirloom Dolls “A Mother’s Love” issued in 1986. An original collector doll by Irene Spencer. Crafted in fine bisque porcelain with hand-painted details and costumed in the Victorian style with ribbons and lace.
Excellent condition. Includes Certificate of Authenticity, doll stand, original box and all original accessories.
My mother bought this collector mother and child new in 1986 and they have lived their box or in covered display since then. The box has little shelf wear but still in great condition.
The traditional mother-and-child theme has been a favorite with artists for centuries. It depicts the qualities of self-sacrifice, tenderness and abiding love. Designed by Irene Spencer, an artist well-known to collectors for her beautiful interpretations of this theme, “A Mother’s Love” is actually two dolls. One is an affectionate mother and the other a beguiling infant held in her mother’s protective arms.
