VINTAGE NAVAJO HANDMADE 10” DOLL IN BURGUNDY VELVET DRESS
Here is an original Navajo folk art doll. She wears a tiered burgundy velvet dress trimmed in white zig-zag. The sash at her waist is yellowish with floral patterns. On her bodice is a beaded necklace and sewn-on embellishments to look like traditional silver and floral squash blossoms.
She has leather hands, beaded loop earrings and a hand-painted face. Her black hair parted in the middle is fashioned into a low bun, known as Tsiiyéé. Covering white leggings under the velvet dress is a floral underskirt
The unsigned figure is 10” tall and 4” wide at the shoulders. The doll weighs 3 ounces.
