Vintage Greek Etruscan Belt Buckle Vitreous Glass Cabochons Gold Tone Metal

Vintage Belt Buckle with 4 Vitreous Glass Cabochons Adorned on Gold Tone Metal Plate. The cabochons include vitreous (not real glass/stone) Lapis Lazuli, Onyx, Emerald Green and Ruby Red colors. This stunning rich gilt metal rectangular belt buckle inspired by the ancient Greeks and Mediterranean cultures has 4 small metal round ball elements at each corner block and surrounding engraved pattern that hold the cabochons. This is a rare item and is hard to find a comparable. The buckle measures 2 7/8" W, or 3" x 2 3/8" T x 5/8" thick with belt holder. Very good preowned condition. The cabochons are glued in and tiny bit of the glue is seen on the rear. Some gilt loss to 2 ball elements and small amount on rear. No maker's mark but is a well made, solid belt buckle, not flimsy. No belt. This piece could be a wonderful display to a shadow box or add to a Etruscan collection. Please look carefully at back of the buckle so you can be sure it is the kind you want. Weight 2 oz.
