A representative work of Lombard Gothic architecture of the early Renaissance.
This architecture was designed and built mainly by Guiniforte Solari (1429-1481) in the first half, 1453-1481, with cloisters, arches, and small domes. In the second half, between 1481-1499, it was taken over by Giovanni Antonio Amadeo (1447-1522), one of the greatest architects of the time and a representative architect of the Renaissance, and completed in 1507. Both architects were heavily involved in the construction of the Milan Cathedral, so this monastery is said to resemble the Milan Cathedral in some ways.
