Gorgeous rare vintage 60’s Hawaiian Shifts International of Miami brown and white floral shift dress .. created by Hawaiian textile designer Dior Vargas. Dior Vargas (1930-2009) was a prolific Cuban-Hawaiian artist who specialized in print works. Vargas studied under Takeo Nakamura, a Japanese artist who had mastered the technique, for six years. Vargas created works that were a mix of postmodern American and traditional Japanese styles, and extended his medium, applying batik to various surfaces including at one point a grand piano, and a 1928 Ford Phaeton.
