【MEMO】This is an art book archive from the Christo exhibition, featuring the whole picture of Valley Curtain and drawings for the Umbrella Project, held at the Mito Arts Foundation in 1991.
It is being held to commemorate the implementation of the Umbrella Project, which will begin on October 8th.
The Valley Curtain (1972) section introduces the entire project with over 100 original drawings, models, documentary photos, and actual fabrics, anchors, and wire ropes, as the first full-scale retrospective exhibition in Japan. In the "Umbrella" section, nearly 30 drawings from recent works are displayed along with documentary photos that convey the progress of negotiations with landowners, helping to understand the Umbrella Project. Please enjoy the charm of Christo's art through these two projects, which are separated by nearly 20 years.
