First edition, 45th printing hardcover copy of Gone With The Wind by Margaret Mitchell (The Macmillan Company, 1938). Printed just two years after the first printing in 1936. 45th printing is my best tally of the printings listed on the copyright page, there’s a chance I’m off by one or two prints. The iconic historical fiction novel, the basis for plays, film and all sorts of related media. Boards have some mild blemishes to faces, corners and spine ends bumped with some fraying to cloth wrap. Blacked-out previous owner’s address sticker on front endpaper and title page, otherwise all pages are clean and unmarked though tanned. Front hinge cracked at title page, rear hinge remains intact. Binding is loosening elsewhere, but remains fairly strong on the whole. Slight sagging of text block. See photos for condition.
