Okay so more items from my family Estate. I do know that this was purchased while my great uncle served Vietnam. I am told it was actually Philippines Mahogany wood.
There is a NORMAL aged wood split as you see!! It just adds to the whole history of such a piece!! Btw YES no matter what you have been told Mahogany can and normally does split with age!!
