Stunning blue certified natural tanzanite, weighing in at 65.50 cts. Stone is about 99% eye clean, and 97% Loupe clean, with magnification at 30X showing slightly more inclusions. Stone is birefringent, and has been clarity enhanced by heat. Stone dimensions: 24mm X 20.5mm X 14.2 mm.
Why So Cheap?
Will this gemstone end up in the Crown Jewels? No. Would they be used in products from Van Cleef and Arpel, Cartier, or Tiffany? Also probably no.
These are “B” rated gemstones; meaning they are the real thing, but not up to the standards for top tier jewelry. They’re great for collecting, making your own jewelry, or even as an investment. They’ve been relegated to the “B” team due to many reasons; stone isn’t perfect in clarity, the stone needed treatments to make them presentable, or they aren’t faceted in a perfectly symmetrical fashion. It’s better than tossing them out, or crushing them up and using the for industrial purposes. Plus these have already been imported.
