Hiraki Sawa, a video artist based in London.
This book, his first artist book, is mainly composed of new works presented at the Dundee Contemporary Arts in 2013.
The new work "Lenticular," filmed at an old observatory in the city of Dundee, depicts the connection with the universe through the figure of an old astronomer. By incorporating exhibition photos into the two-channel screen configuration of a dome shape and a square shape, it creates a unique composition for a collection of works. "Aurora," filmed under the cold Canadian sky, unfolds with a variety of expressions, both large and small, with great impact. "Souvenir," which consists of a cross-country trip in America, has become a new work created by the travel records, with the addition of Sawa's handwritten text.
The new drawings are like looking into a sketchbook, and the 16-page booklet adds a unique color to the collection of works.
The end of the book includes all video works from 2002 to 2013.
