Potter Bookend by John Ruhl from Armor Bronze, 1915, (only one bookend).

Selling only one bookend, it is in good condition with some fade and wear and two spots that are cracked, one in between legs and the other on a corner of the base.  Please review pictures.

This bookend is of a potter working on a pot and displaying some other pots on top.  Ruhl's name is inscribed on the back with year 1915.  The original label still affixed to the bottom.

Measurements: 8” tall (base to top pot) x 5” wide (base) x 4.5” deep (base)
Weight: 5 lbs

This bookend is electro-formed or bronze-clad, a manufacturing technique which made a skin of bronze to adhere to a plaster figure through the chemical process of electro-plating. A handful of companies used this method in the early 1900's to produce decorative household objects that had the look, feel and heft of solid bronze pieces but still were affordable by the middle class.  Armor Bronze was one of those companies.
