This pin was released in Disney Stores in Japan in 2001. It was a limited edition of 5000, the 3rd pin in the Princess category released to commemorate Walt Disney's 100th year, his life and legacy. This is Ariel in a rare pose that I’ve not seen on the secondary market. I found this many years ago at the annual Disneyana show at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Anaheim, California. It predates the Disney Pin Trading era which began in USA in 1999 but took a while to reach Japan.
