A work released in 1975 by the German rock heavyweights, Can. This album was released immediately after Damo Suzuki left the band. The members are Holger Czukay, Irmin Schmidt, Jaki Liebezeit, and Michael Karoli – an amazing lineup, no matter when you look at it. In the sense that the ethnic/world music elements that become prominent in their later work can be seen starting from this album, it's actually a hidden masterpiece and an important one in Can's history. From the dubby sound construction and ethnic atmosphere of A1 "Dizzy Dizzy," to the dope Can-style dub of A2 "Come Sta, La Luna," the trance-like B1 "Chain Reaction" which alternates between disco dub rhythms and steppers reggae rhythms, and the experimental ambient track B2 "Quantum Physics," this album is pure Can sound throughout its five tracks. A bizarre world created by seriousness, humor, and experimental spirit. One of a kind.
