Product Description:
This is a special military map compass from SUUNTO, delivered to the British Army in 2003 upon the request of the British Ministry of Defence. It was supplied to the army soldiers deployed to the Iraq War in 2003 and released from the British Army in 2012 as surplus stock. It is a rare item that is hardly seen in Japan.
Due to aging, the body has yellowed, and the oil has turned blue. The compass function is generally normal under appropriate conditions depending on the usage environment. However, as it is an extremely old item, we strongly advise against using it in dangerous situations such as mountain climbing and emergencies.
Please consider purchasing it as a collection of gear actually used by the British military in combat.
The original compass has a radioluminescent mark on the left side where tritium is used, but the mark on the item for sale has worn off.
Tritium vial technology does not require luminescence and has a lifespan of about 15 years. However, since the item for sale has been produced for over 20 years, it has already exceeded its lifespan and does not pose harm to the human body.
Since it was actually used in the military for several years, there are numerous scratches throughout.
