THE SUFI CHOIR, which spontaneously formed in the early 70s in San Francisco, led by the American mystic SUFI SAM, also known as SAMUEL L. LEWIS. In 1969, young people in their 20s and early 30s, responding to him, formed THE SUFI CHOIR, calling him Mursid (Persian for teacher, master) and practicing SAM's mysticism based on Sufism, a hippie circle. Naturally, talented musicians gathered, including Zakir Hussain, a tabla player who is a major figure. This is a wonderful album that will also appeal to CCM soft rock fans.
