Very unusual shaped wood carving of a realistic Lizard. This carved sculpture is truly a one of a kind work of art. It’s in wonderful condition.
Parasite wood is formed by a species similar to mistletoe and is commonly found on Chinaberry and Mango trees. Where it connects to the tree it forms a tight dense ball or burr sometimes called a "wood rose", which villagers collect and dry before carving, often saving the tree in the process. The burr has an almost coral like look to it.
