★ Measurements Frame Size: Approx. 10" wide × 8" tall Visible Image Size: Approx. 7.5" wide × 5.5" tall Glazing: Glass front panel ★ Condition Era: Mid to late 20th century, c.1970s Condition: Good vintage condition overall. Flaws: The pen and ink drawing remains stable behind glass, with gentle age toning to the textured paper consistent with mid to late 20th century production. No tears, losses or significant marks are visible to the artwork itself. The glass shows light surface marks and handling scratches, visible under direct light. The hardwood frame displays widespread cosmetic wear throughout, including scuffs, rubbing, small pin holes from earlier mounting, minor knocks and edge wear, consistent with age and long-term display. The reverse shows an aged hardboard backing with period flexi tabs and hanging hardware present, exhibiting surface discolouration, handling marks and wear consistent with previous framing and storage. All wear is cosmetic and in keeping with the piece’s age. Note: Easel shown in photos is not included, this piece has been in long-term storage and would benefit from cleaning or sympathetic attention if desired. ★ Details & Features Vintage British pen and ink drawing depicting a New Forest Pony in motion, titled “New Forest Pony” and signed C. McGlenn to the lower right. Executed with confident, expressive line work on textured paper, capturing natural movement and anatomy typical of traditional British equestrian studies of the mid to late 20th century. The restrained monochrome palette and observational style reflect a classical approach to animal drawing, often associated with regional British equestrian and countryside art. Presented in a period hardwood frame with black inlay detailing, likely original to the artwork and characteristic of British framing from the 1960s–1970s. Suitable for country interiors, equestrian enthusiasts, collectors of British animal studies, or traditional rural décor settings.
