Small vintage decorative box, likely of Russian origin, made in the traditional lacquer style. Black background with a hand-painted scene of a girl in folk dress, surrounded by floral and forest motifs. Finished with gold-colour detailing along the edges. The box opens on a hinge. The inside shows some lacquer peeling and wear, consistent with age and use (see photos for details). The exterior painting is well preserved with only light surface wear.
