Vintage tile of Punky Hedgehog By Kenneth Townsend Menagerie 1960’s

Vintage 1960s Kenneth Townsend “Punky Hedgehog” tile. A wonderfully characterful and humorous design from Townsend’s Menagerie Series. The image is silk screen printed with hand-finished touches, giving it a lovely depth and handmade feel. The hedgehog’s warm orange-brown colouring has a beautiful natural mottled effect, and the white background makes the design really pop. Markings: The reverse shows ‘PILKINGTON / ENGLAND’ along with additional impressed factory marks. The “Designed by Kenneth Townsend” present, but faint. Condition: Vintage condition with some age-related surface wear, mottling, including a small area of paint/print loss to the design (please see close-up photos). Overall, it displays very well.
