Gene is often categorized as a Britpop band, but they possessed a unique aesthetic that set them apart from the hedonistic bands of the time, and vocalist Martin was even compared to Morrissey of The Smiths.

However, musically, they were characterized by a more powerful guitar sound and lyrical melodies than The Smiths. They announced their disbandment in 2004.

This is a best-of album featuring 22 tracks on a 180g blue 2LP vinyl, including hit singles. A must-listen band if you're into UK rock.
