Nikon 70-210mm f/4-5.6 D Zoom Lens

This is a Nikon AF NIKKOR 70-210 F4-5.6D.

It's a D-type full-frame "small tri-element" lens from the film era, and like many products from that time, the lens barrel is quite robust, making it a long-lasting straight-zoom telephoto lens.
At a focal length of 70mm, it's about the same size as a standard zoom lens, and it has a macro function, allowing you to get close to subjects throughout the 70-210mm range.

The difference from the so-called initial non-D version seems to be the focus gear ratio; the D-version has a higher gear ratio, resulting in faster AF.

The latest production lots seem to be made in a Thai factory, but this item has "MADE IN JAPAN" engraved on the lens barrel, indicating it was manufactured in Japan.

The exterior has few scratches and is in a clean condition.
Optically, there is no mold, haze, balsam separation, etc., and although there is some minor dust, it did not affect the captured images.

I confirmed the AF, AF macro, aperture mechanism, and various shooting mode functions on a Nikon D5, and they all work without any problems.
The filter diameter is 62mm, and the minimum focusing distance is 1.2m thanks to the macro function, making it a lens that can get quite close to subjects.
The depiction has a light color rendition, and when stopped down, it produces quite sharp images.
Since it has an aperture ring, it can be used with the latest mirrorless cameras using a mount adapter.
