This is a reprint of Kiyoshi Kurosawa's first book, featuring essays, interviews, and screenplays from 1973 to 1992. Bonus tracks include "A Bright Future," "The Great Illusion," a synopsis of a phantom project, and many other previously unpublished writings.

**Kiyoshi Kurosawa**
Born in Hyogo Prefecture in 1955. He began making 8mm films while studying at Rikkyo University, apprenticed under Kazuhiko Hasegawa and Shinji Sōmai, and made his commercial film debut in 1983 with "The Kanda River Slut War." He has since directed films such as "The Blood of the Do-Re-Mi-Fa Girls Runs Hot" (1985), "Hell's Security Guard" (1992), and the "Revenge" series (1996). His 1997 film "Cure" was screened at film festivals around the world. He has continued to release films such as "Human Passing" (1998), "Charisma" (1999), "Pulse" (2000/Winner of the International Critics' Prize at the Cannes Film Festival), "A Bright Future" (2002/Official entry in the Competition section of the Cannes Film Festival), and many more.
