Srie Teorema's 7th release is the world's first reissue of Luli's LP album, a famous Brazilian singer from the 60s. This phantom record is difficult to obtain even in her native Brazil, and is also known for being included in mixes by Nicola Conte and Tatsuo Sunaga.
Luli's LP, released in Brazil in 1965, is a phantom record that is difficult to obtain even in her home country. It is traded at high prices among collectors, with the LP selling for over 150,000 yen (currently 450,000 yen on Discogs) and the original 7-inch record selling for over 290,000 yen.
Luli's charming voice and the sound that embodies the fusion of bossa nova and jazz still captivate many music fans today.
"There is music I don't want to listen to on streaming. Music I want to listen to with my ears and heart after going through physical steps. That is exactly Luli's singing voice. That night, I listened to it with a feeling of envy when Daisuke Hayashi played it as a DJ. It's an immense joy to be able to get that singing voice."
Toshinari Nakano (Scriptwriter)
"Luli's first album, a guitarist and composer at the young age of 20. Due to requests from the record company and her youth, it was mainly composed of protest songs that sang about dissatisfaction with society and protests against poverty. In addition to her original songs, the rare talents of composers who were almost unknown, such as Luis Carlos Sá, a duo with the young Sidney Miller and Paulo Tiago, are gathered here."
Yuta Takahashi (Music Selector)
