【JUDITH GLUE】
The Orkney Knitwear Collection is all made on the islands by a small group of skilled knitters and finishers. This is a cottage industry, and every piece is hand-knitted and shaped on small, hand-operated machines. No cutting or sewing methods are used, resulting in a finer, handcrafted finish.
Knitters are now difficult to find, and it is a highly skilled profession, so the number of garments produced is limited.
All knitwear is knitted with a mix of Scottish lambswool, which contains wool from local Orkney sheep, and merino, a very soft fiber spun from under the sheep's fleece.
