【30th Anniversary Live First Day Sound Source】THE FIRST 30 YEARS (3CDR) December 5, 2011, First Day at the Fillmore

A 3-CD-R set featuring the first day of a special concert held over four days (December 5, 7, 9, and 10) in 2011 at the Fillmore in San Francisco to celebrate the band's 30th anniversary.

This special live performance featured many guest appearances and a setlist that included many songs not usually performed. It was held at the Fillmore Theater, a historic club in their hometown of San Francisco with a capacity of just over 1,000 people. Only "Seek & Destroy" was played on all four days, with a total of 78 songs performed. Each day's opening was an instrumental number, with the first day opening with the majestic "The Call Of Ktulu."

The first day's guests included John Marshall of METAL CHURCH, who filled in for James when he was burned by pyrotechnics; Apocalyptica, a string quartet metal band; Biff Byford of SAXON; Sean Harris and Brian Tatler of DIAMOND HEAD; and Jason Newsted, a former comrade, who participated on all four days.
