Debut album by the American indie rock band.
After their demo tape, they opened for Chapterhouse's first West Coast tour in the US, and signed with the prestigious British shoegaze label Hut (which also featured Moose, The Verve, and Revolver).
This debut album features a fresh, pop and noisy sound that blends the best of the Boston-born US alternative and UK shoegaze scenes, with a mix of unpretentious brightness and a sense of introspection.
Female vocalist Paula Kelley later continued her musical activities under the names Boy Wonder, Hot Rod, and as a solo artist. Also, because of the presence of the mysterious Japanese guitarist Yasue Motohiro, it can be said that they were, in a sense, the originators of "Japanese shoegaze."
A masterpiece full of fresh energy, packed with famous songs such as the catchy killer tune "Winona" and the Madonna cover "Angel."
As bonus tracks, the EP "My Aquarium" is included, featuring four songs, including a cover of Barry Manilow's hit song "Mandy."
