80s Levi's 519 Denim Shorts / Orange Tab / Talon Zip W29

The Levi's 519, a rare find with limited stock and highly sought after, is now available as a cut-off short.

The Levi's 519 is known for its flattering silhouette and has a dedicated fan base. It boasts a narrow silhouette, falling between the 501 and 606. Its slimmer fit compared to the 501 or 505 makes it comfortable to wear, earning it the title of a hidden gem within the Levi's collection.

The 519 was introduced in the 1960s as a slim, tapered fit, color pant. Its rarity is such that it's even harder to find than a USA-made 501 in America.

The orange tab was launched as a more affordable model than the regular line, produced from the 60s to the 80s. It was a hugely popular series among young people at the time.

To improve efficiency, the number of rivets was reduced, the coin pocket was simplified, the outseam was interlocked, and the inseam was sewn with a rolled seam. Despite these simplifications, the same fabric as the red tab was used, making it an affordable option that appealed to young people.

The orange tab is known for releasing fashion-forward items like the 519, 606, 505, 517, and bush pants, making it a series with many hidden gems.

This particular pair is a 519 short from the early 80s.

Tab: Orange small e, no R, reverse Levi's on the back.
Front: 42TALON zipper fly, used from the 60s to the early 80s.

Hem: Cleanly finished with single-stitch using the same color cotton thread.

Color: Dark indigo. The fading is excellent, the fabric is sturdy, and you can fully enjoy the aging process.
