This Rare & Vintage 1990s Sealed & Untouched Official NASA Atlantis STS-71 4"x4" Patch on the 9"x12" Information Mission Card is Complete & in excellent condition. A great addition to any NASA Collection!! In its original 1990s packaging!
STS-71 was the third mission of the US & Russian Shuttle-Mir Program and the first Space Shuttle docking to Russian space station Mir. It started on June 27, 1995, with the launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis from launchpad 39A at the Kennedy Space Center in Florida.
The STS-71 crew patch design depicts the Orbiter Atlantis. The names of the 10 astronauts and cosmonauts who will fly aboard the Orbiter are shown along the outer border of the patch. The rising Sun symbolizes the dawn of a new era of cooperation between the two countries. The vehicles Atlantis and Mir are shown in separate circles converging at the center of the emblem symbolizing the merger of the space programs!
