Working, Antique, Silver Etched Metal Case, Double Dial with Most Sacred Heart of Jesus Symbol, 17 Jewels, Mechanical Pocket Watch by ELGIN.
The 1917, silver-tone metal, octagon-shaped case measures 2 1/4" with bow x 1 3/4" x 3/8" deep and is Art Deco in design. Fabulous etched floral and line decorations, and fancy WRJ initials on case back and floral leaf swirl designs on all borders.
Matte and etched silver dial and subdial with black hour hands, numerals, and minute markers. Black seconds hand and second markers on subdial.
~~~The painted SACRED HEART OF JESUS image on the dial is an aftermarket addition.
This watch may have been viewed as a symbol of faith and protection. ~~~
Clear crystal covering.
