The "Rock Island" marking on the top is inside what collectors call the "beaver pelt" logo. This logo was used by the Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad from roughly 1905 until 1976. The version that says "Rock Island Lines" is very common for that era.
This is a "short-globe" style lantern. The wire frame (the "cage") is designed to protect the glass globe. The vent holes on the top and bottom are consistent with the "Reliable" or "Kero" models manufactured by companies like Adams & Westlake (Adlake).
The globe is clear.
NOTE: There are no markings on this other than the rock Island stamp at the top of the lantern. I do not know anything about these lanterns, so I do not know if this is vintage or a remake? You are bidding on what you see in the photos. I have seen others like this listed at 100+ dollars.
