This eyelet knit was inspired by vintage underwear.
While vintage pieces often use wool, we've used cotton cashmere, perfect for the spring/summer season.
We've also created two colors, gray and red, not found in vintage pieces, so you can wear it as a single layer without looking like underwear. The lace is color-coordinated to make it stand out even more.
By combining an eyelet pattern with a striped knit pattern, the design appears streamlined and not stretched out.
The waist fits snugly, while the sleeves and armholes are generously sized. We paid close attention to the underbust placement to avoid a childish look. The vintage underbust we referenced was set low towards the sides, and we've recreated the exquisite sense of looseness and femininity that it created. The wide neckline, long length, and fitted silhouette are key features for a mature look.
