Vintage by Florida jewelry artist Wolf Dosch. This piece is from the Incredible Eunice Gelb Jewelry Collection
Wolf Dosch, a Florida jewelry artist was known to use mixed metals and this beauties is no exception. There are 5 segments which feature a subtle textured surface with a lightly oxidized finish, and one has a bezel setting containing an opal. The segments have a 22K gold finish (gold leaf or vermeil). One of the is wonderful example of mokume gane. The Brooch has a flat backing with its original pin mechanism. The back is hand signed "Wolf Dosch" and 22K It is also maked with 2 words I cannot read.
DIMENSIONS 2 ½” long and 2 ½” wide. Condition is Excellent
Mokume-gane is a Japanese metalworking technique that involves fusing layers of different metals together using heat and pressure. The result is a mixed-metal laminate with distinctive layered patterns that often resemble wood grain.
