This bag is made from extra-thick 4-count canvas (24 oz) from Okayama, which has been heat-treated, dyed with persimmon tannin, and then dyed to a deep black using an iron mordant technique. The "F.M.G" areas on both sides were resist-dyed with paste, a process that prevented those areas from being dyed.
The details, such as the handle attachment, are sewn using three types of special sewing machines, following methods as faithful as possible to vintage coal bags.
This bag has 38 copper rivets.
