The NR1501 overturned the conventional wisdom of AV amplifiers being large and heavy, achieving both sound quality and a slim design. The NR1601, while maintaining the compact size (440W x 105H x 367Dmm) of the NR1501, which demonstrated a new approach to AV amplifiers, has significantly upgraded its functionality. The 4-input/1-output HDMI terminal supports "HDMI Ver1.4a" features such as 3D video transmission and ARC (Audio return channel). In addition, it supports HDMI control function (CEC) to improve operability and HDMI signal pass-through during standby. Furthermore, connectivity with diverse digital audio devices has been enhanced. A USB terminal compatible with digital connection to iPod/iPhone is installed on the front panel.
