antique Burmese lacquerware cylindrical container with its original inner liner and fitted lid. The piece features traditional red lacquer with raised gilt decoration, characteristic of Burmese (Myanmar) lacquerware from the late 19th to early 20th century.

The outer body is richly decorated with scrolling foliate motifs in applied relief, finished in gold over red lacquer. The interior liner is finished in glossy black lacquer and was designed to protect the decorative exterior. The container rests on three small integral feet

historically used for storage of tea, betel nut, incense, or ceremonial items

The lid and side is decorated with an elephant motif, an auspicious symbol associated with strength

Good antique condition.There is an area of lacquer loss and surface wear along the rim of the lid, visible in photos. Additional expected wear includes minor losses to gilt, surface abrasions, and age-related cracking to the lacquer. Inner liner fits properly
